Coaching is a great way of volunteering your time to the community children.
Our seminars can develop skills for the novice or the seasoned coach.

Article II - Coaches Certification

Section 1.  Coaches

Coaches, and all bench personnel shall be registered as members of Massachusetts Hockey Inc, and shall be identified as such on approved roster forms.  They shall be responsible for the conduct of all members of their teams both on and off-ice during sanctioned activities.  There shall be not less than one (1) or more than four (4) bench personnel in the bench area during a game, and a game shall be forfeited upon failure to comply with the minimum requirement of one (1) at all times during sanctioned activities there shall be on the bench at least one (1) individual certified pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of this article.  Coaches and bench personnel may be changed during the season by submitting a "Change/Add Bench Official form" and the appropriate fee to a District/Divisional Registrar.

Section 2.  Certification
2.1 To qualify as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach on an approved roster, the following USA Hockey Coaching Education qualification levels must be obtained by November 1 for Bantam and Midget, and December 31 of the current playing season for Mite-Pee Wee Teams.

2.2 Coaches who fail to comply within their inaugural season will be declared ineligible for a coaching position for subsequent season(s) until they first achieve the appropriate USA Hockey coaching Education Level endorsement.

2.3 Coaches, and all bench personnel shall adhere to the USA/Massachusetts Hockey Coaching Code of Ethics (click here) at all times.

*) A coach may attend multiple clinic levels in the same season.
**) A coach may attend a level clinic out of sequence but will not receive certification until that level pre-requisites have been met.

***) Coaches who do not meet the MH level criteria by the established date will be declared ineligible for MH State and National Tournaments. (see MH Rules & Regs)
